Vaelsas Story

Born in Rome, raised in Milano and educated in Helsinki. Paola Chiodo wanted to offer her friends and family Italian delicacies and perfectly planned courses – Antipasti, Pasta, Secondi Piatti, Dolci & Caffè.

A thought about real, atmospheric Italian restaurant was born in the dinner table. In 2009 Paola fulfilled her dream and opened Ristorante Vaelsa in Annankatu, Helsinki, and named it after her three daughters: Valentina, Elisa, and Sandra. The restaurant is loved and taken care of like a fourth daughter.

When the restaurant grew, Vaelsa moved to a 200-year old Govinius building next to the Helsinki Market Square and the sea. This building has been the center of Helsinki nightlife since the 17th century.

Vaelsa's menu included seasonal favourites and mouth-watering classics such as tiramisu, gnocchi and pizzas.
